A Letter from Eric
To my clients — current, future, and the ones I haven't yet had the privilege of meeting,
There's a question I've been sitting with for most of my career: what is this work actually for? The easy answer is the one you'll find on most advisor websites — returns, retirement, peace of mind, all the words we've been trained to say. But the longer I do this, the more convinced I become that those are outcomes, not purposes. They're what the work produces. They're not what the work is.
What I've come to believe is that financial planning, done well, is a kind of stewardship. It's the quiet, careful work of helping a person make decisions today that the person they'll be in twenty years will thank them for. It's holding the long view when the world insists on the short one. It's translating a lifetime of effort — the hours, the discipline, the sacrifices — into a life that actually reflects what it was all for. That, to me, is sacred work. And it deserves to be treated that way.
I started Fundamental Wealth Partners because I believe, over time, this industry has lost sight of that. Plans get treated as products. Relationships get treated as funnels. Advice gets shaped by what’s profitable to recommend rather than what’s right to recommend.
I wanted to build something different — a practice rooted in the older, slower virtues. Listening. Patience. Honesty when honesty is hard. The discipline to do the fundamental work consistently, year after year, because that’s where real outcomes actually come from.
My mission, simply put, is this: to walk alongside the people I serve with the kind of presence and care that this work has always deserved. To know you well enough to advise you wisely. To tell you the truth, even when the truth is inconvenient.

I believe trust is the only thing in this profession that compounds reliably — and I intend to spend my career earning it.
